Part 1: The One God Is Not Three Persons

THE ONE GOD IS NOT THREE PERSONS

Part 1

Most of the churches of traditional Christianity hold on to this statement of faith as part of the Fundamentals: "There is One God eternally existing in Three Distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit". But the question is, "Is it being taught by the Holy Scriptures?". Others go on to the extreme and teach that if a person does not believe in the Trinity, he will go to hell.
The following is the Athanasian Creed which is what these “Roman Catholics” and “Protestants” believe. The Athanasian Creed was a strong defense of the orthodox doctrine of the trinity written around the year 500. It was not written by Athanasius, bishop of Alexandria, an ardent defender of the Trinity against the Arius (a priest who taught that only God the Father was divine and Christ was not divine), but written by his followers after Athanasius death.

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith.
Which Faith except everyone do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
And the Catholic Faith is this:
That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity,
Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance [Essence].
For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost.
But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one, the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal.
Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost.
The Father uncreate [uncreated], the Son uncreate [uncreated], and the Holy Ghost uncreate [uncreated].
The Father incomprehensible [unlimited], the Son incomprehensible [unlimited], and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible [unlimited].
The Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Ghost eternal.
And yet they are not three eternals, but one eternal.
As also there are not three incomprehensibles [infinites], nor three uncreated, but one uncreated, and one incomprehensible [infinite].
So likewise the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty.
And yet they are not three Almighties, but one Almighty.
So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God.
And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.
So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord.
And yet not three Lords, but one Lord.
For like as we are compelled by the Christian verity: to acknowledge every Person by himself to be both God and Lord,
So are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion, to say, There be [are] three Gods, or three Lords.
The Father is made of none, neither created, nor begotten.
The Son is of the Father alone, not made, nor created, but begotten.
The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son, neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not three Holy Ghosts.
And in this Trinity none is afore, or after other; none is greater, or less than another [there is nothing before, or after: nothing greater or less];
But the whole three Persons are co-eternal together and co-equal.
So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.
He therefore that will be saved must [let him] thus think of the Trinity.

Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting salvation that he also believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For the right Faith is, that we believe and confess, that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man;
God, of the Substance [Essence] of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man, of the Substance [Essence] of his Mother, born in the world;
Perfect God and perfect Man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting;
Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead; and inferior to the Father, as touching his Manhood.
 Who although he be [is] God and Man, yet he is not two, but one Christ;
 One, not by conversion of the Godhead into flesh, but by taking assumption of the Manhood into God;
 One altogether, not by confusion of Substance [Essence], but by unity of Person.
 For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ;
 Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell [Hades, spirit-world], rose again the third day from the dead.
 He ascended into heaven, he sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God [God the Father] Almighty,
 From whence [thence] he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
 At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies
 And shall give account for their own works.
 And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting, and they that have done evil into everlasting fire.
This is the Catholic Faith, which except a man believe faithfully [truly and firmly], he cannot be saved.
Look at what these men say: “Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith.
Which Faith except everyone do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly… This is the Catholic Faith, which except a man believe faithfully [truly and firmly], he cannot be saved.” The catholic faith that man must believe is the doctrine of the trinity, and if a man does not believe this doctrine, “he cannot be saved”! That’s what they teach? But is it the teaching of the Holy Scriptures?
The word “trinity” is not mentioned even “once” in the entire Scriptures. So why build a doctrine which the Holy Scriptures don’t even mention?
Where did the word “trinity” come from? And who invented this word “trinity”? It was a Roman Catholic Theologian of the third century by the name of Quintus Septimius Florens Tertullian. Yes, Tertullian. Tertullian came up with this word in his refute of the Monarchians, who stressed the monarchy of God and maintained that God was “one’, that there was only one person of the Godhead and he carried out different functions as The Father, then as the Son and the Holy Spirit. Tertullian refuted this and said that God is one substance in three persons. The “trinity” doctrine which is followed by the Romanist churches for centuries. See? the word “trinity” is an invented word of the Roman Catholic theologian  Tertullian, “the Father of Latin theology”.
The Scriptures below are Scripture verses that prove that the Trinity doctrine is not a Biblical Doctrine but rather a doctrine that is rooted in paganism’s polytheism. The Bible clearly teaches that there is ONE TRUE GOD (Deut. 6:4).

Isaiah 9: 6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Councilor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace".

This verse is a prophecy about Christ referred to as "Son", in the phrase "a Son is given". And “He shall be called everlasting Father". That is to say, the Son shall be called "everlasting Father".

But, you may ask, "How can the Father and the Son be the same Person?" The answer is that they – Father and Son are titles, offices or manifestations of the LORD who is One. There are several passages in the Old Testament that tell us that the LORD is the Father. Is. 9:6, quoted above is one of the Old Testament verses that prove that the Father and the Son are one.

Isaiah 63:16, "Doubtless, thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: Thou O LORD art our Father, our Redeemer; thy name is from everlasting".

The New Testament (Matthew to Revelation) teaches that The Son is our Redeemer.

Revelation 5:9, “for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood …"

Ephesians 1:6-7, "He hath made us accepted in the Beloved, in whom we have redemption through His blood".

And many more verses.

In other words, the Father is the Redeemer and the Son is the Redeemer. There are obviously not two Redeemers, therefore, the Son and the Father are one. If we see Christ as the Son only, as opposed to fulfilling all the titles of the LORD, that makes no sense. That is to say, if Christ is the Son and the Father, we must understand that to mean that he fulfills the offices of "Father" and of "Son", they are not two different "Persons".

Isaiah 64:8, "And now O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and we all are the work of Thy hand".

This verse tells us that man was created by the LORD. But we know from at least two New Testament verses that Christ Jesus is the Creator.

John 1:10, "He (Christ) was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew him not".

Col. 1:16, "For by him (Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him".

If we see the LORD (Father) as one Person and Christ (Son) as another, we have a contradiction. There are no contradictions in the Word of God, but once we see that Christ is the fulfillment of all of the LORD’s titles, including "Father", then everything is clear. That is to say, man was created by the LORD in his office of Father and in his office of God (Aleim) Gen. 1:1.
