According to the Bible

We have heard so many versions of the age of the earth through the years according to Christian religions and theologies. Mostly they derive their conclusions from the secular calendars and history books. Others use Scriptures but only as part of their presentations and use some commentaries and historical sources to substantiate their claims.

The only basis of this study is the Complete Revelation of God written in the King James Bible. The writer believes that the answer is always in God’s words. So he relies only in God’s full revelation in the Bible.

The writer carefully gathers every information from the Holy Bible in order to present the facts accurately. But it does not mean that the conclusions of his study are perfect. So he challenges the reader to study for himself.

The principles of this study are based on these verses:

(1) 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

(2) 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

(3) 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

(4) Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

(5) Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

The writer believes in the King James Bible as the purified, infallible, inerrant, authoritative, inspired and sufficient words of the Lord. So the reader is also encouraged to be a Bible believer to benefit from this study. No amount of Hebraism and Greekism will be allowed to find mistakes in the Biblical revelation.  No Bible corrector and agnostic will be entertained. It is either to believe God or not to believe.

The earth where we dwell is not millions or trillions of years. Many so-called Christians have come to this million ages conclusion in order to reconcile the Scriptures and human science. That is an error! The apostle Paul strictly advises us to avoid profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of “SCIENCE FALSELY SO-CALLED” (1 Timothy 6:20). So in order to please science, they force the Bible to agree with it. They have invented many theories such as the “GAP THEORY” and the “AGE-DAY THEORY”. Real science doesn’t contradict the Bible. And if science does contradict the Bible, the Bible remains as the FINAL AUTHORITY!

This study uses the Biblical calendar of:
(1) 24 hours of a whole day and night.

(2) 7 days of a week.

(3) 30 days in a month.

(4) 12 months in a year.

(5) The first month and day beginning at spring (March). The seventh month at autumn (September).

(6) The day beginning at sunrise and not at sunset.

(7) The sabbath day not based on Roman days.

Let us begin with the first verse of the first chapter and book of the Bible:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The book of Genesis is the book of beginnings. The very first verse is about the beginning of TIME. So in Genesis 1:1, time begins. It is 1:1:1. Others interpret this as the beginning of a covenant but it is very far from the truth. Let us take the Bible as it is, literally, as long as it defines itself in an allegorical way. Spiritualizing it without it telling us to spiritualize it will lead us to believe in spiritual lies which the Bible calls as “CUNNINGLY DEVISED FABLES” (2 Peter 1:16).

In the sixth day of creation (Genesis 1:27,31) God created the “FIRST MAN” (1 Corinthians 15:45) named “ADAM” (Genesis 5:1). So Adam was created on Day 6,  year 1.

Genesis 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

When Adam was 130 years old, he begat a son named Seth. So Seth was born in the year 130.

Genesis 5:6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

When Seth was 105 years old, Enos was born. And that is the year 235 which is the sum of 130 and 105.

This is what we will be doing for the next characters, we will add the years to the previous ones to determine the year. We will be using “SC” for the year “SINCE CREATION”.

So there are 1,656 years  from the creation of man to Noah’s flood.

Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Adam lived until his 930th year when Lamech was 56 years old, Methuselah was 243 years old and Enoch was 308 years old. Methuselah lived for 969 years (Genesis 5:27). He was born on the year 687 and died on the year 1656, the year of Noah’s flood, when Noah was 600 years old. Amazing how these fathers lived very long lives!

From Noah’s flood to God’s covenant with Abraham is 391 years. From Noah’s flood to Abraham’s birth is 292 years. Abraham was born on year 1948 SC.

When God called Abraham in Genesis 12, he was in Mesopotamia (Ur of the Chaldees) before he dwelt in Haran (Acts 7:2).  He went forth with Terah his father, Lot his nephew, and Sarai his wife to Haran and dwelt there (Genesis 11:31). When Abraham was 75, Abraham left his father in Haran who spent his lifetime until his death at 205 years old. When Terah died 205 years old, Abraham was 135 years old.

Abraham’s seed should sojourn in a strange land (Egypt) and they would be afflicted for 400 YEARS (Genesis 15:13). The sojourn began in Jacob’s 130th year until the Exodus. It took 430 years.  For first 30 years they were well-treated, but for 400 years, they were maltreated and afflicted for “there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph” (Exodus 1:8).

From Exodus to the beginning of the temple construction is 480 years, the 4th year of Solomon’s reign. If we go back four years, it was Solomon’s first year, so it would be only 476.

Dispensationalists and futurists place the last week of Daniel’s 70 weeks to the future. See their charts. They place a gap between the 69th week and the 70th week and credit the fulfillment of the 70th week to the invented future Antichrist. No, that’s wrong.  The 70th week was already fulfilled by Jesus Christ himself. He was the “Prince” mentioned there.

On the other hand, some preterists, deny the literal 490 years of the seventy weeks and force the fulfillment of the 70th week on the last 40 years to 70 A.D. That is also wrong. The 70th week (last 7 years) was fulfilled already from Christ’s baptism to the stoning of Stephen. About 26/27 A.D. up to 33/34 A.D. Jesus the Messiah was cut off (crucified for the sins of the people) on the middle of the 7 years (30/31 A.D.) And because of that, from 30 A.D. to 70 A.D (the consummation), these were fulfilled:

(1) to finish the transgression, (2) and to make an end of sins, (3) and to make reconciliation for iniquity, (4) and to bring in everlasting righteousness, (4) and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and (6) to anoint the most Holy. (7) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: (8) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, (9) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, (10) and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (11) And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; (12) and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and (13) unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The Year today since creation is 6,177 beginning Ethanim 1 (Sept. 17)

September 17, 2015 to March 14, 2016 = Year 6,177

The 6,000th year  =    1,838

If we follow the exact 360 days a year, from year 1 AD or 4162 SC, year 2015 is not 6177 SC but 6206 SC. The Roman calendar has 365 days a year and every four years has a leap year, so every four years, it becomes 366 days. If we multiply 365 days by 2015, we have 735,475 days. If we multiply 360 by 2015, we have only 725,400. There are 10,075 days difference which consist of 27/28 years in a 360 day calendar. If we add 28 to 2015, we have 2043. So according to 360 day calendar, we are in in year 2043 AD.

But the Roman calendar does not only have 365 days a year. Every leap year, there is an added extra day to February. And February becomes 29 days. So it is not only 735,475 days in the year 2015, but 735,978.75 days. There are 503.75 days difference which is equivalent to more than one year in 360 day calendar. So we add 1 year to 2043 and it becomes 2044.

Therefore, according to my calculation,

In a 365 day calendar, our year today is 2015 AD or 6177 SC;

In a 360 day calendar, our year today is 2044 AD or 6406 SC.

Now, how old is this earth?  Is it millions of years? Thousands of years? No. According to my calculation it is 6177 years according to a 365 day calendar, but it is 6406 years according to the 360 day calendar, which is the Biblical calendar. We have reached already the 6000th year.
